Since the TBR Double Dog Dare officially begins at the stroke of midnight Pacific Time you still have time to join in the fun. One of the many buttons on this page to find the official Mr. Linky and sign-up.
The rules are simple, make your own rules.
The official Double Dog Dare rules, if you're brave enough to take them, are to read only books in your possession or on one of your waiting lists as of midnight tonight, January 1, 2013 until April Fool's Day. That's just three months or 90 days of reading only books in your TBR pile. (Think of how many books you could read in 90 days. I bet it's a lot.)
Remember, The TBR Double Dog Dare is not a book buying ban. You can still buy all the books you want; you just can't read them until April 1.
Exceptions are allowed for book club books, and anything else you need to make an exception for like the surprise fourth book in the Shades of Grey series, Silver Ice*, due out mid-February.
(Just kidding.)
The point is have fun, take The TBR Double Dog Dare while you still can.

*Silver Ice is the official color of my car. It basically looks grey like every fourth car on the road in America these days. I won't tell you how many times I've tried to unlock the door of the wrong car since I bought mine. Too many to count.

I'm looking forward to this...I always look forward to it. It has given me a whole new approach to reading. Happy New Year!
I did add some books to my library list yesterday, and I'm allowing myself to finish a re-read I started, to compensate for the stress of moving - but otherwise I am good to go! I'll be happy if I can finish off the books I bought in 2012 - the ones I had the best intentions of reading as soon I got my hands on them.
I'm all set, too (although, like Lisa, I did put a book on hold at the library yesterday).
My car is also silver, and a Prius. There are eleventy-jillion of them around here, and they have keyless entry, which means I've been known to stand there yanking on the handle multiple times before I realize it isn't my car. Glad it's not just me.
I SHOULD join this challenge - but know myself well enough to avoid failure :)
I wish you a fabulous 2013, CB - and I look forward to catching up on your blog in the coming year.
Ok, I'm going to do it again! I need to get away from library books for the moment anyways- I never seem to take them back on time lately. And my TBR books have overflowed their shelves lately, too.
Ready, set, read!
I feel like I'll make it this time because I'll be reading Les Miserables until April 1 and for the rest of my life...
